about

There is no better way to escape from the modern world, than to take a long walk in the countryside. The stunning view of blue bells in the woods led to the photograph, which then inspired this album.

This started with the core eurorack Rings patch from the track London Overground. A sequence change, differing modulation with bandpass filtering led to the base sound. Add some woodland field recordings from the same walk as the photograph, and the album started to develop.

To add some further variety a Korg Volca FM was brought into use. This through the Black Hole DSP 2 in Stalker Reverb mode, provides a very distinctive sound to the mix. Very noticeably from the midpoint of the title track Woodland Blues.

Woodland Blues was recorded live, with the later addition of the field recordings.

about

American Astro Monkey Project London, UK

American Astro Monkey Project presents the electronic compositions of Steve Godwin. Based in London he is still inspired by the original 1970s electronica artists Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream & UK's John Foxx & Gary Numan. Analogue synthesis still remains a wondrous world of sound exploration. Steve invites you here to come exploring with him.
