about

This release is a big backward step change, coming about from looking through old recording files. The wav file dated the 8th June 2020 was marked as Pro1 & Model D, however I have no doubts that the Eurorack was involved. For some history it pre-dates the Space Bass.

On listening to this 24 minute live improvisation, the sense of foreboding returned to me. As for back then I had no idea what the future was going to hold, in relation to the start of the pandemic.

The artwork was inspired by the sense of foreboding I have, in relation to current world events.

This isn't 70s Krautrock, Prog rock, or Punk rock, perhaps it's 2020s Drone rock.

Track 1 - Foreboding.
Track 2 - Foreboding (More Bass), is an enhanced bass version for speaker listening.

Track 3 - It Doesn't Bode Well, came about from a modular experimentation with the Moog 1630 Bode Frequency Shifter. Add some Moog voiced sequencing that I was also experimenting with, this track started to take shape and seemed to suit the theme.

American Astro Monkey Project London, UK

American Astro Monkey Project presents the electronic compositions of Steve Godwin. Based in London he is still inspired by the original 1970s electronica artists Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream & UK's John Foxx & Gary Numan. Analogue synthesis still remains a wondrous world of sound exploration. Steve invites you here to come exploring with him.

Let's monkey around with sound!
