about

Inspired by my scuba diving adventures, and particularly those dives in Cyprus around and inside the MS Zenobia. The MS Zenobia was a roll on / roll off ferry that rolled under on the 7th June 1980 in the early morning. It’s worth an internet search to read of this engineering catastrophe, which was likely a control system software fault, compounded by what appears to be a rush to complete sea trials.

As a wreck dive it is simply amazing, with trucks hanging from chains, creating this unique underwater sculpture.

The pace of Space Wreck is as it should be for efficient air consumption when scuba diving.

Thanks to Andy Bloyce (TSSDP, TAFS, Kubuschnitt, and others) for his friendship and advice, and for inspiring me to explore the audio soundscape universe.

This album is dedicated to Werner Wolf my diving mentor, who taught me so many underwater skills, not least of which is being chilled out for best air consumption.

American Astro Monkey Project London, UK

American Astro Monkey Project presents the electronic compositions of Steve Godwin. Based in London he is still inspired by the original 1970s electronica artists Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream & UK's John Foxx & Gary Numan. Analogue synthesis still remains a wondrous world of sound exploration. Steve invites you here to come exploring with him.

Let's monkey around with sound!
