At this time of year, I usually end up in the loft recovering various holiday equipment items. During this endeavour I discovered the flight case, containing my old Korg Volca units, which unfortunately had started to rust. This really didn’t bode well for the Korg Volca units contained within! The good news was that I had actually had the foresight to remove the batteries.

Now returned from my holiday travels, I hooked up the Volca Bass and Volca Keys, in a minimal set-up with the Novation Circuit Tracks. I’m pleased to report that they both still function perfectly, in that analogue imperfect way. The effects were provided by the internal effects on my mixer and those within the Circuit Track. I have post processed the recordings in an attempt to make the audio more appealing to my ears.

Headphones or speakers are recommended for appreciating some minimal stereo effects and the bass components.
